Video Production in Michigan

I never imagined myself getting into video production in Michigan when I was younger. Many filmmakers start early, capturing their first shots on a VHS camcorder or, like Spielberg, experimenting with an 8mm camera at just 12 years old. But that wasn’t my story. I didn’t pick up my first camera until I was 19.

Production of… Movies?

Like many 20-year-old creatives with a camera, I started out making fast-paced videos filled with effects and quick cuts. It was exciting, and I enjoyed it so much that I switched my college major to film and video production after just one summer behind the lens.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time watching movies, playing video games, and playing organized basketball. But out of those three, only one has stuck with me—watching movies.

Before studying film and video production, the best part about movies was the freedom to enjoy them without overanalyzing. There was no pressure to dislike the “bad” ones. I’d be lying if I said Sharknado wasn’t ridiculously entertaining—I loved it!

What’s Michigan got to do with it?

Other than that’s where I reside and grew up; I just added it on because it’s supposed to help with SEO. Speaking of which, my SEO plugin is telling me I have enough words in this post to be search engine optimized.
